Steps to Vote

Everything you need to know to cast your ballot

    Check Your Eligibility

    You must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Indiana, and at least 18 years old by Election Day. You cannot be currently imprisoned after a criminal conviction.

    Register to Vote

    Register online, by mail, or in person at your county clerk's office. The deadline is April 6, 2026 before the 2026 Primary Election, or on or before October 5, 2026 before the 2026 General Election.

    Bring Valid ID

    Indiana requires a government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, military ID, or Indiana state ID) to vote in person.

    Look up your designated polling place before Election Day. You can only vote at your assigned location.

    Cast Your Vote!

    Polls are open 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time on Election Day. Early voting is available up to 28 days before the election.
